   How to build a Spiral Tower

This is a cool design, and not too difficult to make.

1. Start with two 4x2 Duplo bricks of different colors. Place them side by side.

2. Place two more 4x2s on top of the first two, except turned 90 degrees to the left.

3. Then, add another pair of 4x2s on top of those, also turned 90 degrees to the left.

4. Continue in the same way until the tower is the height you want it to be, you run out of bricks, or when it is the same height as shown here. 

If you want to finish here, good job!  Or you can continue if you want.

5. Now, build the same tower*, but with regular size bricks, so it will only be half the size.  If you want to finish here, then stack the small tower on top of the big tower. Good Job! If not, read on.

6. Next, build another tower with the regular size bricks. Make it the same as the last one, except 2x2 instead of 4x4.

7. Finally, stack the towers on top of each other, the smallest on top, and the largest on the bottom. Good Job!    

 

* To make them the same, count the number of stripes of one of the colors on one of the sides. Do this for both towers. Make sure the sides you are counting on look the same on both towers. If the numbers of stripes are different, add or take off stripes from one of the towers.
